"That is one tall mountain," I looked up.
"Yeah, well ... let's get climbing," said Shadow.
"Climbing? What do you mean by climbing? We're flying up there, right?"
"We can't use magic here, we'll end up using too much of our energy. There's some kind of miasma around this place. When we use magic we have opening points, we allow magic to go out, but that means that something else could go in. Miasma would block our magic points and aura, since there would be no way to release ... we'd blow up, literally," he added.
"Ow," I looked up at the mountain again, "ow."
"Let's get started," said Iris all cheery.
"How come she can fly?"
"Her flying, well, it's in her structure, she doesn't require magic to fly. On the other hand we do."
"Lucky," I followed Shadow and we started climbing. "This can't be fair..." After an hour I got too tired so we took a break. "This is unjust, oof," I let myself fall on my back. "My aches, have aches."
"You know, for the all powerful Guardian, you sure whine a lot," said Iris.
"Why you little piece of," I got up and tried catching her, but I slipped and landed on my face, Iris just giggled.
"I present to you, our savior."
"Ha, ha, very funny," I got up while rubbing my chin, "mento eria," the bruise on my chin healed. "There, much better," I looked up at Iris, her jaw was dropped. "What?" Everything was so quiet, I couldn't even hear nature. Iris turned to Shadow.
"I told you she had a good grasp on water than any other element," Irish crossed her arms, "where did you learn that healing spell?"
"Out of book, why?" Curiosity ended up getting the best of me ... again.
"A healing spell, that's one of the highest points in learning how to control the element water, it's impressive."
"Really?"
"Yeah, which book did you learn it from?"
"Um ..." I was wondering if I should tell her that I learned the spell from a book that Tsubasa gave me. Wait! Something hit me then, the book belonged to my mother, I remembered the creature that I had a fight with in Hollows, the smell, it smelled just like Tsubasa. That's what was so familiar about him! "Then that means ..." rage began blinding me, I could barely see Shadow and Iris with worried faces.
'Shadow? Does he know?' All I could make out was a blur, the last thing I remembered was my name being called out, but right before I blacked out, I though I had seen a vision of my mother.
Fire? I could smell something burning. Then I remembered everything, plus more. I saw myself burning things, my friends. They were yelling at me to stop. I was wreaking havoc. "Iatus, you were doomed from the start, you're destined to be with me," Wrath's voice filled my mind. My eyes snapped open, I stood up and pain seared through me, I fell back down. I had wounds all over my body. "Mento eria," my wounds started healing, I looked up and reality hit me hard. Everything was burned to ashes, I also noticed that I wasn't even on the mountain anymore, but once I stood up I saw that really was ... I had reduced the mountain to mere ashes.
"What the hell is going on?!?" I looked around for Shadow and Iris. "Sha-AHH!!" My head started pounding, it was a screeching sound, it stopped after a couple of seconds. I remembered what Shadow had told me before. Someone must be trying to contact me. What if it's Shadow? But, how do I let someone in? I sat down cross legged and tried clearing my mind. I'm always so defensive so if I feel carefree, someone should be able to get in. I heard a strong blow, then I saw Shadow.
"Shadow!" I got up and went toward him, "what the hell happened? Everything's gone."
"You lost it," said Shadow, "you got ... furious ... you fed your demon, so ... well, you can figure out the rest." Sadness couldn't describe what I saw spread across his face.
"I did that? ... Shadow ... I'm sorry .. I've caused nothing but trouble."
"That's not true, Midna, look at me, you have to find Wrath. He is in Hades, look, I met with the water goddess, she gave me something. But ... I can't give it to you this way, you'll have to look for it. I left the object near where you are now, you'll have to climb a little higher, I think it should be in the center of the mountain."
"That'll be easy."
"Well, you'll have to slice the mountain to get the box, the Akum box to be exact."
"Don't have to, the mountain's already rubble," he looked at me blankly.
"I'm not even going to ask, just look for teh box, oh, and if you hear the screeching noise again, don't let anyone in. I won't contact you again after this."
"But what if it's Haku," I protested.
"I'm sorry, but what if it'snot? Midna, if an enemy is let in, well, he could kill you."
"... okay."
"You should go."
"When will I see you again?"
"I honestly don't know, just look for Wrath, once you're near him, the box will do the rest."
"Okay, ... hmm?" I heard a drop.
"You're bleeding," said Shadow, "you have to go, someone's attacking you!"
The next thing I saw was some fiend aiming an axe at me. "Wow!" I dodged and pulled out my sword, "baruz!" The beast started burning, "Agur... go away, you're out of your league." After the flames left him, he ran away. "... idiot." I sheathed my sword and began looking through the rubble. Eventually I found the Akum box. I picked it up, it wasn't heavy like I had expected. It was a dark blue with some red and yellow markings, it had a design of a dragon and a small crescent at the top. "Cool," I put the box away in my sack. I looked forward and grew confused, " ... now what? ... Aeir!" I went up high until I saw a dark cloud, "Wrath ..." I headed toward it, anticipating the final battle.
Once I was near the cloud I started getting dizzy. I figured it was all the smoke so I blew it away with the air spell, but even the strongest of my air spells couldn't blow away all of the smoke. I ended up creating a sphere around myself that would keep the smoke out. I went into the darkest area of the cloud and saw an ominous, floating castle. The front gate was open, so it was obvious that Wrath doesn't know that I have the Akum box, I went toward the gate and entered.
"Whoa ..." it was a battlefield, "hmph! Come out Wrath, show your nasty face!"
"Finally made it! You must be so proud," I could tell Wrath was above me. "I suggest you don't attack, you see, you'll be hurting your friend as well."
Haku then appeared on the other end of the field. "Haku! Are you okay?!" He nodded yes, "Wrath! Explain!"
"Notice anything different about him?" I looked back at Haku, he looked the same, then I noticed that the stone in his necklace had been switched out with a different yellow on. Also, he was within a circle drawn on the ground, "that circle makes my health his, also, the stone helps. So, kill me and you kill him too."
I flinched, "how ... how did you do that?"
"It's quite easy when you have a magician on your side," I glared back at him, he smirked. "By the way, by any chance, do you know who I'm talking abuot?"
"You bastard..."
"Well?"
I hesitated, " ... it's Lady Yame ... right?"
"Good," Wrath appeared opposite of me along with Lady Yame. Lady Yame has the same smirk on her face that she had when she met me. "Sloth, you can change now," said Wrath.
"Finally, I hate being in this form," the once stubby Lady Yame turned tall, with long black hair. Her eyes turned red and they grew cold and empty. Her attire changed from the white robes to a small, strapless dress.
"Kill her."
Sloth instantly pounced with blinding speed, but I managed to dodge. I kept dodging all her attacks and I soon she left an opening for my attack. "Baruz!" Sloth took most of the hit, but she backed up still. I turned back to Wrath, one question kept bothering me. This was my chance to find out if he had killed Sarah. " ... did you kill Sarah?" Wrath got a serious face and Sloth moved to his side, I took my stance and was ready if they attacked. Wrath then slowly went to stand behind Haku.
"Yes, I did ... and I'll show you how I took that wretched woman's life," before I even had a chance to swallow the new information, Wrath had grabbed Haku's head and snapped his neck.
I couldn't produce any words, the only thing that I recognized was the sinking feeling in my chest. Haku dropped to the ground dead, I went weak at the knees, but I stood my ground, " ... you bastard," I murmered, "I'll make you regret that."
"Oh, is that true?" He hesitated before giving another order, he looked down at me. My aura was changing, same with my appearance. "Sloth ... I thought you said I could win against her."
"You can," I heard her answer with doubt.
"Look at her aura!" They backed up a few steps slowly, wind started gushing everywhere. I was losing control and I was actually conscious this time. I felt a great power flow through my veins, then I heard a roar. I remembered Haku's words. Whatever was trying to take over, I ceased it and used its power.
"Aeir!" Midna moved at extreme speeds, Wrath didn't even notice her take off until she was in midair. Sand flew everywhere and it served as good obstruction. "Haiel!" She raised a boulder of grand size then sent it flying toward Wrath and Sloth. "Baruz, Shoei!" With her sword she had sent three blazing dragons toward the boulder before it hit Wrath. The stone and fire blended and it made a powerful attack against Wrath and Sloth.
Sand and blood was in the air, once the sand went down, Wrath and Sloth were on the floor, "aviel!" A beam of light was shot at them, Wrath tried putting up a barrier, but the beam broke right through it. "It's futile trying to stop me, Mizu." A water beam shot them both across the field and they hit the wall. Midna lowered herself to the ground. "And that's only a portion of my power," Midna walked toward them, Wrath tried getting up, but she easily punched him the ground and she kicked Sloth against the wall. She stood before them with no mercy, she grabbed the Akum box from her sack and placed it on the ground before Wrath and Sloth.
The box glowed a bright green and a section of the box opened, a white blinding light now shined. Once it died, Wrath and Sloth had disappeared into the box. Midna sighed deeply then placed the box back in her sack. She walked over to Haku's body, she undid the ropes around his arms and legs.
"I'm sorry," she the placed her hands over his chest, she said her last words to him, then she sent him below the earth with a spell. She left the castle; once outside, she reached for her red crystal ball. "I'm sorry ... Aursh Devot."
